The Silver Connections program at Hill Regional Hospital is part of the hospital’s commitment to supporting senior health, preventive care, and healthy aging in Hill County. This community health program helps adults age 50 and older stay active, socially connected, and engaged while supporting overall wellness.
As a trusted healthcare provider in Hillsboro, Hill Regional Hospital recognizes that social engagement, physical activity, and wellness education are essential parts of long-term health. Silver Connections was created to help seniors maintain healthy lifestyles while building friendships and enjoying a welcoming hospital community.
Membership in the Silver Connections program is free and open to seniors in our community.
Senior Fitness and Wellness Classes
Regular movement and physical activity are key components of preventive healthcare for older adults. We offer several senior-focused fitness classes designed to improve strength, flexibility, balance, and mobility in a safe and supportive setting.
Senior Strength
Senior Strength classes focus on improving muscle tone, joint stability, and overall functional fitness. Strength training can help seniors maintain independence, reduce fall risk, and support long-term mobility.
Zumba Gold
Zumba Gold is a low-impact dance fitness class designed specifically for older adults. The class combines fun music with easy-to-follow movements that help improve cardiovascular health, coordination, and endurance.
Chair Yoga
Chair Yoga offers gentle stretching and guided movement designed to improve flexibility, posture, and relaxation. This class supports joint health and balance while providing a calming environment for both physical and mental wellness.
These wellness classes are designed for seniors of all activity levels and are part of Hill Regional Hospital’s ongoing commitment to community health and preventive care.
Social Events & Monthly Bingo!
Maintaining strong social connections plays an important role in mental health and emotional well-being for seniors. Silver Connections encourages social engagement through fun group activities that bring the community together.
One of the most popular events is monthly Bingo, held on the third Tuesday of each month in the Hill Regional Senior Center. Members gather for games, laughter, and friendly competition while enjoying a welcoming environment that supports social interaction and community connection.
The program also hosts monthly craft gatherings, allowing members to explore creativity, reduce stress, and spend time with friends while working on hands-on projects.
Senior Meals and Social Dining
Nutrition is an important part of overall health, especially for older adults. Seniors can enjoy affordable weekday meals at the Hill Regional Cafe for just $5, providing a convenient and nutritious option for members of the community.
The café offers a comfortable place for seniors to gather, share a meal, and stay socially connected. Menus are posted on the hospital’s official Facebook page so visitors can easily see upcoming meal options.
Community Gatherings and Group Outings
Silver Connections also promotes healthy social interaction through group dining events such as the Breakfast Crew and Lunch Bunch. These gatherings give seniors the opportunity to meet at local restaurants, enjoy conversation, and strengthen friendships within the community.
Details about upcoming outings and special events are shared through the Hill Regional Hospital Facebook page, where members can stay updated on program news and announcements.
